DOJ launches writing style guide

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched the Manual of Writing Style that aims to close communication gaps between the government and its people for the effective administration of justice.

This will offer clear guidelines for legal writing, covering form, style, and principles to enhance understanding between the DOJ and its clients.

“It is high-time that we take the lead in establishing and implementing universally accepted principles in legal writing which provides ease and convenience in the efficient administration of justice for the benefit of the general public,” according to Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla.

Remulla added, “Attuned to the present times, this Manual will serve as a blueprint on legal writing, style and other formal correspondence.”
