CLICK Partylist: Championing computer literacy, innovation, and connectivity

Atty. Nick Conti, first nominee of the CLICK Partylist (Computer Literacy Innovation Connectivity and Knowledge), today underscored the vital role of technology in shaping the future of the country.

Speaking to a crowd of supporters and advocates, Conti emphasized how technological empowerment will serve as a foundation for national progress, job creation, and social inclusion for the over 70 million constituents that CLICK aims to represent across various sectors, including education, entrepreneurship, and the workforce.

“The future belongs to the digitally empowered,” he said.

“As a nation of over 76 million internet users, we are sitting at the intersection of immense opportunities and untapped potential. Through the initiatives of CLICK, we are committed to harnessing the power of technology to ensure that every Filipino, from students to entrepreneurs, is equipped with the tools to succeed in a digital-first world.”

CLICK: A Vision for a Digitally Literate and Connected Philippines

CLICK’s core platform revolves around increasing access to computer literacy programs, fostering innovation through technology, ensuring nationwide connectivity, and expanding knowledge-sharing networks that will empower millions of Filipinos. The partylist’s initiatives aim to provide:

Universal Computer Literacy Programs: CLICK will push for the integration of computer education across public schools and barangays, ensuring that students, OFWs, and marginalized sectors are equipped with essential digital skills.

Support for Tech Innovation and Startups: Recognizing the Philippines’ burgeoning startup scene, CLICK plans to propose policies that foster innovation and provide financial support to tech-based entrepreneurs. “We are building a future where Filipino innovation can shine on the global stage,” stated Conti.

Nationwide Internet Connectivity: One of the cornerstones of CLICK’s vision is making high-speed internet accessible across the archipelago, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Conti underscored that connectivity should be viewed as a basic necessity, as it opens doors to education, jobs, and essential services.

Knowledge and Skill-sharing Platforms: By advocating for digital hubs in every region, CLICK envisions a knowledge-sharing ecosystem that will facilitate collaboration between universities, industries, and local governments. “We want to create opportunities for all Filipinos to learn, grow, and contribute to a knowledge-based economy,” he explained.

“CLICK isn’t just about technology; it’s about hope. It’s about securing the future of every Filipino,” said Conti. He stressed the need to prepare younger generations for a tech-driven economy, citing the vast opportunities in digital careers such as software development, esports, and content creation.

He also pointed out that the OFW sector, with its over 10 million Filipinos abroad, is a prime audience for CLICK’s advocacy. “We can bridge the distance by using technology to connect our kababayans to opportunities here and abroad. Whether through remote work, tech jobs, or access to better financial services, we want to ensure no Filipino is left behind.”

As CLICK Partylist continues to engage with communities nationwide, Conti reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to inclusivity and progress. “Together, we can build a future where technology empowers us, where innovation fuels our economy, and where every Filipino is equipped with the knowledge to thrive.”
