Romualdez thanks Singapore for assistance to typhoon victims

The leadership of the House of Representatives extended heartfelt gratitude to the Singaporean government for the aid it provided to the victims of Typhoon Kristine, particularly the crucial role of the Singaporean Air Force.

House Speaker Romualdez expressed his thanks to Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Ambassador to the Philippines Constance See for the use of C-130 aircraft to deliver assistance.

“The aid they sent, especially the C-130 aircraft from the Singapore Air Force, will be utilized for the swift delivery of relief goods to the areas severely affected by the typhoon,” said Romualdez.

“We truly appreciate this gesture. Singapore is a true friend of the Philippines,” Romualdez added.

The House of Representatives initially provided ₱411 million worth of financial aid to 22 districts and four party-list groups affected by the typhoon.

The Office of the Speaker and Tingog Party-list also prepared 2,500 relief packs for the victims.

Romualdez assured the public that the House remains supportive of the government’s recovery and rebuilding efforts.
