BBM on Chinese New Year: Pursue grand ambitions for greater good

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. joined the Filipino-Chinese community on Wednesday to celebrate the Chinese New Year, a cultural splendor that symbolizes hope, renewal, and perseverance.

“As we welcome a new year of self-improvement and good fortune, let this event inspire us to boldly set our intentions and confidently pursue grand ambitions not only for ourselves but for the greater good,” Marcos Jr. said in his message.

Chinese New Year, or Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, is China’s most important traditional holiday celebrated in many countries with significant Chinese populations. The festival marks the beginning of the lunar calendar and typically falls between January 21 and February 20.

The President said the cherished occasion, steeped in century-old tradition and joy, should remind the public to consider every challenge a chance for growth and every effort an opportunity to fulfill shared aspirations.

He urged the people to embrace the “promise of prosperity with courage and determination” in the Year of the Snake, a symbol of wisdom, intuition, and transformation.

“Let the vibrant lanterns that illuminate our celebration also brighten our purpose as a nation,” said Marcos Jr.

“May this auspicious time rekindle our commitment to a Bagong Pilipinas-inspiring new beginnings, forging fruitful endeavors, and deepening our duty to strengthen the ties that bind us as a country,” he added.
