BBM to PCSO, LGUs: Create programs that will bring life, security to Filipinos

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has called on the local chief executives to continue creating programs that will uplift the lives of every Filipino.

Marcos Jr. made the statement during the distribution of 129 ambulances, or patient transport vehicles (PTVs), to local government units (LGUs) held at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

“I expect that every LGU beneficiary will use these vehicles responsibly and efficiently, and urge the PCSO, the LGUs, other agencies to continue creating programs and projects that will bring life and security to everyone,” the President said.

According to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), at least 227 LGU beneficiaries from all regions, except the National Capital Region, have received PTVs from June 30, 2022 to September 8, 2024, through its Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program.

Under the program, the PCSO aims to deliver Type II Advanced Life Support Ambulances, PTVs, and sea ambulances, particularly to underserved regions in the country.

Marcos Jr. said more than 200 LGUs have benefited from the program since he assumed office.

“I was also informed that you are set to procure even more PTVs to ensure that every single municipality in the Philippines will be equipped with two vehicles each.

“It is a vision worth every ounce of effort, so I enjoin each of you to stand firm, to press on until we turn this aspiration that we have into reality,” he added.
