Kabilang na si double gold medalists sa Paris Olympics Carlos Yulo sa Philippine Navy Reserve Force.
Malugod na tinanggap ng Naval Public Affairs Office sa isang simpleng seremonya sa Navy Headquarters ang bagong Petty Officer First Class na si Yulo.
Suot ang kanyang bagong uniform, nagpasalamat ang World at Olympics champion gymnast sa Navy kasabay ang pangakong patuloy niyang pagsisilbihan ang bansa sa “beyond sports.”
“I am proud to have the privilege of being enlisted in the Philippine Navy Reserve Force, a recognition I never expected in my lifetime. Wearing this Navy uniform fills me with immense pride,” sabi ni PO1 Yulo.
“With all my heart, I thank the Philippine Navy for this prestigious recognition. I will uphold its core values and inspire today’s youth, showing them that through sports, they too can serve our country.”
Matapos sa Navy, pinarangalan din si Yulo ng Japan Embassy sa dinner sa Ambassador’s Residence sa North Forbes Park, Makati sa pangunguna nina Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya at asawang si Akiko Endo, kasama ang International Gymnastics Federation president na si Morinari Watanabe.
Dumalo rin sa nasabing okasyon sina Philippine Olympic Commission prexy Bambol Tolentino, Philippine Sports Commission chair Richard Bachmann, Cavite 8th District Rep Aniela Tolentino, 1-Pacman Party List Rep. Mikee Romero, gymnastics federation head Cynthia Carrion-Norton, at ilang miyembro ng Kamara at Japanese Embassy.
Sa Japan nag-training at nahubog si Yulo upang maging two-time World and double Olympic champion. Edad 17 lamang siya nang magsimulang magsanay sa Tokyo noong 2016 at naging scholar sa Teiko University.
