Marcos to Metrobank awardees: Stay as catalyst of change

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday urged the 2024 Metrobank Foundation (MBFI) Outstanding Filipinos awardees to continue being catalysts of change and to inspire the public to follow their example amid emerging global challenges.

“To our awardees, continue to be the catalysts of change when you go back now to your communities. Challenge them to dream bigger, to aspire higher, and to take action with the same fervor that you have demonstrated, especially now typhoons and storms are made stronger because of climate change and the challenges become even harder to deal with,” Marcos Jr. said during the awarding of the Medallion of Excellence to the 2024 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos in Malacañang.

“We need more people like you—innovative, selfless and socially responsible; this is what I have always seen in Filipinos— we never get tired of helping others,” he added.

During the event, 10 Filipino public servants were recognized for their outstanding contributions in transforming lives and uplifting communities.

This year’s awardees include four teachers, three soldiers, and three police officers. Each awardee will receive a P1 million cash prize, a Medallion of Excellence, and the “The Flame” trophy.

“These honors are a testament to the remarkable heights each of you has reached. Whether you are educating our young, defending our borders, or keeping our communities safe, you have gone beyond what is ordinary. And for that, you deserve nothing less than our highest admiration,” the President said.

He also thanked the Metrobank Foundation and its partners for honoring Filipino exemplary public servants.

“Be assured, that we stand with you in this mission to uplift those who make the Bagong Pilipinas possible,” Marcos Jr. told the MBFI.
