Roque wife to be arrested if she doesn’t comply with show cause order

Antipolo Rep. Romeo Acop has warned Mylah Roque, wife of former presidential spokesman Harry Roque, that she will be arrested if she does not comply with the issued show cause order and fails to attend the upcoming hearing of the House Quad-Committee.

“If the Quad Committee schedules a hearing and she does not show up despite the invitation, we will issue an order to cite her in contempt,” stated Acop, chairman of the House Committee on Transportation.

Mrs. Roque was issued a show cause order by the Quad Committee after she did not attend the hearing on September 19, citing in her letter that she was unable to attend due to medical treatment in Singapore.

Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers, overall chairman of the Quad Committee, previously explained that the invitation to Mrs. Roque was to clarify her involvement in a lease agreement with certain Chinese nationals linked to Philippine offshore gaming operators.

It is still unknown what illness Mrs. Roque has, but the committee is requiring her to submit her medical records.
