Special non-working days declared in 7 towns

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued proclamations declaring special non-working days in various parts of the country.

Marcos Jr. declared September 20 and 21, 2024, as special non-working days in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, and San Mateo, Rizal, respectively.

Under Proclamation No. 680, September 20 is a special non-working day in Dingras, in honor of Josefa Llanes-Escoda, a World War II heroine and the founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.

Dingras commemorates the birth of Llanes-Escoda, who was born on September 20, 1898.

It is fitting and proper that the people of Dingras municipality “be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” the President said.

He also issued Proclamation No. 681, declaring September 21, 2024, a special non-working day in San Mateo, Rizal to give its residents an opportunity to participate in and enjoy the celebration of the town’s 452nd founding anniversary.

A similar issuance was made for Mountain Province. through Proclamation No. 682, making October 4, 2024 a special non-working day to mark the celebration of the Provincial Indigenous People’s Day.

According to Proclamation Nos. 683 and 684, it will also be a special non-working day in Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur on October 7, 2024 in celebration of the 33rd Araw ng Guipos, and in Narvacan on October 23, 2024 in celebration of the Aldaw Ti Wayawaya-lli A Narvacan.

Marcos Jr. also made a similar issuance for Pili, Camarines Sur as it marks the celebration of the Cimarrones Festival on October 24, 2024.

October 25, 2024 was also declared as a special non-working day in Lemery, Batangas, through Proclamation No. 686, as the town will mark its founding anniversary.
